BTS’s RM Speaks About The GRAMMYs And How They Viewed The Experience Positively

BTS made history by becoming the first Korean act to receive a GRAMMY nomination and the first Korean act to perform at the GRAMMYs! For the 2021 GRAMMY Awards, BTS’s song “Dynamite” was nominated for “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.”

While BTS didn’t win the award, they remained positive and were showered with love from ARMYs (BTS’s fandom).

You all worked hard to stay by our side until this hour. Thank you for cheering us on, and because of that, we have been able to have such an unthinkable experience. Thank you, ARMY, from the bottom of my heart, I am happy. I love you!

In the special KBS talk show, Let’s BTS, RM spoke about the GRAMMYs and how they viewed the experience positively.

In the show, the members shared that it was unfortunate that they didn’t win the GRAMMY award.

J-Hope spoke about how they recorded their reaction to the GRAMMY results and how they “groaned” when they heard the results.

While things didn’t turn out the way the members had hoped, they chose to look at everything positively.

But this is how we rationalized it. They have a lot of different GRAMMY trophies, but only 20 teams get to have their own performance, so getting our own performance was better (laughs). So, that’s how we accepted it.

RM also humbly said that they were “reaching too far” for their first nomination and gave a positive thought regarding the future.

We were reaching too far for our first time. At least we got to perform. After all, the Recording Academy votes on who wins a GRAMMY. We got to leave an impression with that stage, so the Academy should know more about us now.
