5 Times aespa Didn’t Bother Hiding How Much They Love Girls’ Generation
Aespa is one of the biggest rookie groups around!

1. Karina’s Dream Come True
First up, Karina is a certified SONE. Despite winning the “Rookie of the Year” award in the Seoul Music Awards, she was more shocked at meeting Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung. She was so awe-struck, she came to the waiting room emotional and slightly disheveled.

Karina shared that it was the highlight of her life considering she’s been a huge fan of the senior girl group for years.

She’s one of the main characters of the JTBC show, playing the role of Seo Dan A, the CEO of a sports agency. The K-Drama ran from December 2020 to February 2021.
Sooyoung reciprocated their love by posting a photo of herself proudly holding up their signed album.
4. Quick Answers
In an interview with Mnet, the girls were tasked with naming the song based on the lyrics recited by a robotic voice. Though they struggled with several of them as the levels increased in difficulty…
…they had no problem at all with recognizing Girls’ Generation’s 2009 hit “Genie.” They raised their hands right away and succeeded in one try!

5. Weekly Idol
Finally, we can’t forget about their iconic performance of “Genie” in Weekly Idol. The short clip fully captured their dance skills and respect for Girls’ Generation as they were professional and powerful.
