BLACKPINK’s Rosé Makes A Surprise Visit To Saint Laurent’s Creative Director—Here’s What We Know About Their Friendship

BLACKPINK recently made fans curious about their schedules when they appeared in Los Angeles, USA, seemingly out of nowhere.

On June 27, part of this confusion was addressed when Rosé‘s friend, Anthony Vaccarello, posted an Instagram story with the caption “LA Surprise,” tagging the singer.

He’s no ordinary person but a Belgian fashion designer as well as the creative director of Saint Laurent since his appointment in 2016. Rosé is the global ambassador of the luxury fashion brand, thus often wearing the clothes that he designed.

The two met in 2019 when the BLACKPINK vocalist attended Saint Laurent’s show during Paris Fashion Week.

Since then, she’s often found tagging the designer on social media and even sharing photos of the two together.

They have a close working relationship where Rosé is not shy to communicate her ideas with him. She told W Magazine, “Anthony and I talk or text message quite often—he’s really good at keeping us close. I have very strong opinions, and I think Anthony noticed that.”

In a separate interview with DAZED Korea, she was not shy to praise his talent.

I think my style is closer to ‘classic,’ but not only that. I have to dig deep into Anthony’s styles. I always ask myself why could he be so creative with Latex and unique ideas. There are so many range of colors and patterns, and also stories about Saint Laurent’s classic uniqueness. The more I look at those designs, the more amazing I feel.
