BTS ARMY Bonna Hercia Ambay Murdered, Police Seek Public’s Help To Catch Her Killer
A manhunt is underway following the murder of 23-year-old Bonna Hercia Ambay.
This morning Ambay was found dead inside her workplace, RD Pawnshop on Mabini Street in Kalibo, Aklan, after Kalibo PNP received a call from a concerned citizen. Ambay worked at RD Pawnshop as a manager.
According to initial investigations, Ambay sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her chest and succumbed to her injuries before police arrived. The alleged murder weapon, .38 revolver belonging to security guard Mark Archie Torrefiel, has been recovered. Torrefiel is the prime suspect in Ambay’s murder.
Torrefiel’s discarded weapon was found, wrapped in fabric beneath a banana tree, near his home.
According to Leamil Malungayon, the Area Manager of RD Pawnshop, no valuables belonging to the pawnshop were taken and the store’s vault was left untouched. The motive behind Ambay’s murder is currently unknown.
What is known is that Torrefiel and his live-in partner have fled, and a police search is underway. Kalibo Mayor-Elect Juris Bautista Sucro has offered a reward of 30,000 PHP (approximately $567 USD) to anyone with information about the at-large suspect’s whereabouts.
Members of BTS‘s fandom, ARMY, are among those who have answered the call. Ambay was a proud ARMY, who celebrated what was to be her final birthday with a BTS-themed cake and a Jin T-shirt.
On social media, ARMYs around the globe are now mourning the tragic loss of one of their own and working together to bring her killer to justice.
