Korean Netizens React To The Viral “Visible Thong” Trend In K-Pop
Moving on from the “under boob” trend, the latest controversial trend making its way into K-Pop is the “visible thong” trend.
Many idols have confidently rocked the look from their bold stage outfits to their casual streetstyle looks, including Red Velvet‘s Joy.
The looks is characterized by cutouts along the hips of your pants, exposing your hip bones, like BLACKPINK Lisa‘s bold style.
Showing a sexy peek of skin, international fans have mixed opinions on the look. However, many Korean netizens believe the whole look is too much and appears far too lewd for the average person to wear.
Specifically, some styles of the look are made to appear more like a realistic thong above one’s pants as opposed to just cutouts, similar to (G)I-DLE Minnie‘s controversial stage outfit.
However, netizens are not having it. Describing the fashion as “lewd,” “shocking,” and even “hideous,” the look doesn’t seem like it will fly amongst the general public.
Netizens left a slew of comments including “Why would you wear this? It’s not pretty…” and “This is only for celebrities” in regards to the daring trend.
Regardless of whether you’re a fan or not, the trend is gaining popularity in the K-Pop scene and doesn’t seem to be slowing down!
