On February 28, Fantagio announced that Rocky would not be renewing his contract with the company and would be leaving ASTRO, who will continue to promote as a five-member group.

Hello, this is Fantagio.

First of all, we would like to thank the fans who love and support ASTRO.

After holding a series of lengthy conversations with Rocky, who has been a part of ASTRO for the past seven years, it has been decided that Rocky will conclude his activities as a member of ASTRO and conclude his contract with Fantagio.

We would like to express our gratitude for Rocky for doing his best as a member of ASTRO all this time and we will continue to support him in the future.

Thank you to the fans who have supported and watched over Rocky. Please continue to show your continued interest and support for Rocky, who is embarking on a fresh start.

In the future, ASTRO will continue as a five-member group and the members will focus on solo and unit activities. We will support them so that they can be active in various fields of the industry.

Fans had been waiting to hear about Rocky’s future plans since ASTRO’s Jinjin, Cha Eunwoo, Moonbin, and Sanha had already re-signed with Fantagio. MJ cannot currently discuss his contract as he is serving in the military.

But after Rocky’s birthday passed and Fantagio did not release the typical content fans anticipate on a member’s birthday, fans voiced their concerns.

Still, the news, which only came three days later, surprised fans.

Rocky himself updated fans with a heartfelt, handwritten letter, believing fans “deserve to hear this first from [him].”

Hello, this is Rocky.

It’s been a while since I last reached out to my fans. And I’d like to apologize for the fact that I’m not bringing good news. But I believe AROHAs deserve to hear this first from me, so I’m leaving this message.

I’m leaving Fantagio, where I’ve spent the past 14 years. And I’m also wrapping up my position in ASTRO as well.

Rocky expressed his gratitude toward the rest of ASTRO and fans for always supporting him, and the idol promised fans that he would always treasure the memories he has made during their time together.

The time I spent as ASTRO’s Rocky has been so precious to me. I sincerely thank the members and AROHAs who have been my strongest pillars of support through those years. Only with your love and encouragement, I was able to grow and learn. Wherever I end up, I promise to keep the memories I made with ASTRO and AROHAs near and dear to my heart.
